One day, we were passing through Bommanahalli and my husband pointed to a shop and asked "Can you find anything peculiar there?". It was a small bakery and there was something written on a board: some offer or something. I tried hard to spot anything uncommon but failed. Then my husband told "there is no spelling mistake in what is written on the board!!!".Yes, that is a rare sight in Bangalore.
In the IT capital of India, you can always find at least two spelling mistakes in any single sentence written in front of any local shops. The most commonly seen mistakes are
- bekary
- puncher shop
- english mediam school
- chainees food etc etc..
Last week we got an advertisement with the newspaper..It read like this :
Offer valid for 5 days only!20/- discount on the following itmes- koshan cover
- Materes cover water parof
- Santar table set
- A/c set
- Dewan set
- Top shit
Kannada got Classical language status. See, what we are doing with other languages!
